A first step that changes everything...
Guess the one tiny Monday habit that changes everything
The first week of Adventure is closing, and I’ve learned a few important lessons.
As you might remember from our previous newsletter, we defined adventure like this:
Adventure begins with a decision — a small rebellion against the status quo.
“I’m willing to do something differently.
I’m willing to face the fear.
I’m willing to expect the unexpected.”
In that spirit, I started this week with two clear intentions.
One failed miserably.
The other opened a completely new opportunity… and I even started something unexpected, new, and fun.
This week Q&A
I loved the question one of you sent.
This time I’m sharing it as a link to a Note — the answer is a bit long.
If you have something to add, use the comments. You might be supporting someone who truly needs it.
If you’d like to submit an anonymous question, feel free to do so. I’ll publish the answer next week.
Lessons Learned — Adventure Week #1
Domen Kert shared something beautiful in our community chat: his adventure this week was finally following his intuition and respecting his natural flow in his professional life. He had been feeling the pressure to “do things as expected,” and setting an intention on Monday shifted everything.
His lesson was simple and powerful:
“It’s great that you asked Monday allowing/reminding us to set an intention. Although I did not think of it daily at all, apparently the set intention was enough.”
I completely agree.
For me, having such a clear commitment with myself — and with the Lincoln Island community — was essential.
Where my plan failed…
My first idea was to escape my home for a day, go to another city, stay in a hotel, and write a small booklet about Coworking. Total creative retreat mode.
But it didn’t happen. Hotel prices were too high, and several pressures started piling up.
As the title of our last newsletter said: You Decide and… Boom 💥 Life Surprises You.
…and where the intention still worked
Even though the plan failed, the intention didn’t.
So I focused on my second adventure commitment… and it succeeded in a surprising way.
I built my first workflow automation in n8n.
A small step for humanity — but a huge step for me.
I created a system that helps me identify the priorities and issues people care most about. Normally, something like this would take me at least a month. But the internal pressure + the disappointment of the failed plan created enough momentum for me to build it in two days.
And what did I do to replace the failed plan?
I started learning how to ferment vegetables and make my own fermented sodas.
Can you imagine?
Right now I’m preparing: fermented pickles, chili paste from the last hot peppers in my garden, and even a Ginger Bug to ferment fruit juice and make it naturally carbonated
Totally unexpected. Totally fun. Totally Adventure.
This week’s takeaways
It’s okay if a plan fails — replace it with something else.
Set your adventure intention on Monday.
Build on what worked well. Small wins accumulate.
Adventure seems to be about intentional movement.
This week I want to express my gratitude to a new friend, Mo Rivers. His wisdom and encouragement are inspiring me to express myself unapologetically, reach new audiences, and make my message be heard.
Like always, love,
Jose.

Love how you turned a missed plan into movement anyway.
Love this, Jose
The adventure starts the moment we decide to shift something, even if the path changes 5 minutes later !
And honestly… turning a blocked retreat into n8n workflows and fermented sodas? That’s the kind of unexpected momentum I want more of 🙌
