I love this question: “How do I find my fears… if I’m not even aware they’re there?”

This past week, I went deeper into a fear I wasn’t fully aware of, and it turned out to be one of the roots of a big challenge I’ve been facing for many years.

For me, I unpacked the challenge step by step, asking questions, facing what made me uncomfortable or embarrassed, and sharing my obstacles with people I am closest to.

It was there that I found more fears. And in those fears, I found the pain beneath them and the air I needed to let go of them.

Thank you for sharing your story and insights with me. And thank you for helping people uncover their fears, face them, and grow into a better place.

Seeing your fear is like bringing a lit candle to a dark room.

You walk all around until you get a full image of how the room looks.

The light of awareness you brought to your challenge is what is revealing the landscape of your fears. You will see that some of them are not relevant anymore, they are not helping. And you will see that some are still fulfilling a function of protection.

The dysfunctional fears will fade; their absence might reveal other ones you haven't seen yet.

At first, it will feel like an interminable process, but in my experience, once you are relieved of some of your fears, you will have enough space to feel free and understand that you are more than your mind; at that point, your remaining fears won't matter that much.

I'm in the same process as you are. We all are.

It is important to know that we are not alone in this.

That was beautifully expressed, thank you for lighting another space.

Yesterday, my fears rose to the surface, and I had to hold on to every steady, continuous part of myself to keep them from leading me. At the same time, I gave them enough air to breathe, so they could soften and fade in their own time.

It’s humbling to absorb that we’re all going through the same process of evolving, and that we can reach out a hand when someone needs it, and accept others’ hands along the way.
